In early 1900’s, a new breed of hard rock musicians were on the rise. Cyril French and his three brothers were awakened by the soul of this music and took over a plating shop which became the origin of Celestion’s legend. To meet the demands of the hard rock music scene and the increasingly 'hot-rodded' amplifiers, Celestion set out to continuously develop and advance modern speakers capable of handling much more power and overdrive.

Over decades, Celestion's speakers have been providing perfect tones for musicians. Starting with the classic Celestion Blue in the 1960s, Celestion speakers evoke rich music definition with its focused low-end, mellow upper-mids and brilliant top-end, making iconic figures like Brian May and Beatles the greatest musicians of all time. To strive for perfection in providing a pleasant sound texture, Celestion further elevated the technology by launching the G12M Greenback with the revolutionary use of ceramics to offer a more robust and magnificent tone for all.
The Vintage 30, the sound legend of Celestion, features enormously detailed and complex overtones, a warm low-end, a famously rich vocal mid-range and a beautifully detailed top-end. Used singly to reveal the complexities in hand-wired boutique amps, or in quartets for a wonderfully intricate vintage 3D crunch, Celestion’s legendary sound has been captured on thousands of recordings from a diverse range of notable players including Slash, Steve Stevens and Peter Frampton.
